  • What I Wish More Influencers Would Say

    Jul 03, 2020

Authenticity plays a major role in getting followers' or customers' trust and influencers who are real to themselves get credibility. I want to share with you 6 things I wish experts would say or be more honest about and talk more about:

    1. I don't know - oftentimes, as experts, we are expected to have all the answers. We try to answer every question that we get but it's okay to not know the answers because it's an opportunity to learn, gain more knowledge and better yourself not just as a social media person but a human being. It will also increase our credibility for our honesty.

    1. I had/need help - It's very humanizing, builds empathy in and trust in you when you give credit to where it’s supposed to be given.

    1. I don't have it all figured out - oftentimes, the plans we make are the least likely to be followed. Saying, “I don't have it all figured it out” takes us out of stagnation and not learning because we are being taken to constant growth, gaining knowledge and learning new things.

    1. I'm not as perfect as I seem - None of us are perfect and in social media, more and more people are looking for authenticity and vulnerability because we all know by now, that's the truth.

    1. I struggle - Having and sharing our struggles builds, empathy, trust and likeability that make your followers become lifers and to build our own tribe. Admitting that we struggle is admitting that you are human.

    1. I make mistakes - Your followers or customers will appreciate it when you made a mistake.

"Leaders don't lose credibility by making mistakes instead leaders lose credibility when they fail to admit their mistakes" - Jocko Willink, Extreme Ownership

Once we own up to these truths, we're able to grow, be successful in social media and our business, also in life.
