    Instagram trends have been updating and we need to keep up so our business won’t be left out. I recently found new IG trends and would like to share that already began to take form and it’s important that you start to adapt in this change or start thinking of them before it’s too late.

    5 New Instagram Trends:

    1.   What matters on Instagram – Right now, Instagram is starting to remove “likes” because it’s better for our mental health since it will take away your ability to compare your post to someone else’s in terms of analytical data. “Comments” are also starting to lose their value because the Instagram algorithm is improving itself. It can now filter out whether your post is getting good comments with real engagement or bad and spammy comments. Instagram goal as a business is to make users stay on their platform as much as possible. What matters most right now are:
    •         Saves – that means people find the content so valuable, they’re going to save it and come back to it later. Of course, Instagram will begin to show it to more people in the algorithm.
    •         Shares - when one user shares a post to another, it will double the number of users on Instagram.

    So, when you’re creating a post on Instagram, ask yourself, “Is this worth saving and revisiting later” or “Will this stop their scroll and share it with a friend?”

     

    1.   Quality posts over quantity – People are valuing the quality of ideas, messages, or information of the post over the quality of beauty of the post. So, when you’re creating a post, especially when writing captions, focus on sharing quality ideas or information on teaching and serving your audience.

     

    1.   Organic looking feeds are now being favored over highly planned feeds – People are now expecting and favoring a little more organic of a feed because as I mentioned before, they care for the quality of your feed rather than the visuals.

     

    1.   Stories are now almost in the majority of the content being consumed on Instagram – 40% of user’s time watching Instagram stories because it’s more organic, authentic and it feels like in the moment which is highly engaging for the audience.

     

    1.   Instagram TV is becoming much more popular for both content creators and content consumers – This is because it’s being on shown on feed and it can be shared on IG Stories, so more people are watching IGTV, following each other based on content provided there and more and more content creators are beginning to share frequently on IGTV. So, if you begin to produce high quality, good information, visually appealing IGTV videos on a regular basis, you’ll be way ahead because it’s a huge trend on Instagram right now.
